Cardiovascular Systems, Inc.

Cardiovascular Systems, Inc. (now part of Abbott Laboratories) is a leader in orbital atherectomy equipment, a minimally invasive procedure that removes plaque buildup and opens narrow or blocked arteries.

Their lead position in this newer treatment option was in no small part due to a robust marketing program targeting doctors and other health care providers. Convincing cardiologists to treat patients with something new is a challenge, but with a strong brand and consistant marketing programs, atherectomy has caught on as a viable treatment for Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD).

Alloy was a go-to agency for CSI’s marketing team. In addition to the examples of motion graphics shown below, we were also engaged to create trade show graphics, html emails and print ads in support.

explanatory videos

These short animated videos are examples of CSI’s
motion graphic content that Alloy created. They were used in social media posts, landing pages, online seminars and trade shows.

Case studies

CSI came up with the concept of a series of case studies they named “Mythbreakers,” a play on the popular “Mythbusters” television show. It was a not-so-subtle way of presenting positive clinical data and getting cardiologists past their hesitation in using this “new” orbital atherectomy technology.

This video is the opening sequence Alloy shot, edited and produced. We also shot and produced case study content.

digital ads

These are examples of digital ads Alloy created for CSI. Alloy worked with CSI on a number of motion and still ads. These ran in the Journal of the American Medical Association and linked to landing pages we also designed.
